This GAAD, we're celebrating alongside a team whose origin story stopped us in our tracks. We want to talk about two technologies built from the same conviction, that no user should be left behind.
PetaNetra was started from a personal story of one of the co-founders, Grace, a co-founder whose parents are both blind. Growing up as their only child, she watched them struggle to navigate public spaces designed entirely around sight. Signage, directories, wayfinding systems, all visual. She couldn't always be there to guide them, so she built something that could be.

PetaNetra is an AR navigation app for visually impaired users in indoor public spaces. It maps real locations using their own internal tool, then guides users through 3D augmented reality paths with real-time voice directions and obstacle alerts, a much richer experience than typical 2D navigation. Currently available in Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Chinese, across Indonesia and Taiwan.

On the digital side? That's where we come in.
The same barriers that exist in physical spaces exist online too, unlabeled buttons, forms screen readers can't parse, images with no descriptions. Less visible, but just as real.
At AccessTime, we build accessibility-first digital products. One of our tools, AccessLens, is now open source, an AI-powered web scanner that checks your site against WCAG standards and turns technical issues into plain-language guidance your whole team can actually act on. No hassle setup, just put your URL.
Yes, we’re working on the digital layer with accessibility-first software house services, and PetaNetra is solving the hybrid layer with their AR app. In this year's GAAD 2026, the question we're putting to everyone who builds products is this:
Can someone who can't see complete the core task in what you've built, without help? If you're not sure, that's exactly where to start.
